#257 – Cowboy Boot Magnet
Paper Casting Project

A great gift for the horse lover in the family.

Materials Needed:

1 Rycraft cookie stamp or craft stamp #257 – Cowboy Boot
Cotton linter - (see Rycraft Paper Casting Kit and Refill)

1 paper casting* - #257 – Cowboy Boot (see Basic Paper Casting Instructions).

Clear acrylic varnish
Acrylic paints: rusty red, creamy white, black, gray (or any colors you prefer)
1 magnet (from craft store)

*Note: Alternately, the casting for this project may be made from clay instead of paper (see Basic Clay Casting Instructions). The choice is yours.

Instructions:

1. When casting is dry, varnish both sides of the casting to seal it before painting (so wet paint won't make design disappear) and for more sturdiness. Let dry. Optional: Apply a 2nd coat of varnish for more permanence.
2. Apply paint to boot design, one color at a time, letting paint dry between coats so paints won't run together.
3. Optional: Apply another coat of varnish to protect painted casting.
4. Optional: Glue magnet to back of casting.
