Start a Family Tradition
"Grandma's collection of Rycraft cookie stamps
passed from her kitchen to my mom's. . .
from mom's kitchen to mine. . .
then from my kitchen to my daughter's kitchen. . .
& some day it will reside in her daughter's kitchen.
"And what's there yet unseen are the memories of holidays filled with laughter and fun, of special gifts and yummy cookies, all home made with lots of love. Hugs and kisses, thank-you's and speeches. grandmas and babies, warm fuzzies and treasured memories."

A Scandinavian Tradition
The
women of Scandinavian countries bake cakes & cookies for special
occasions. Traditionally they are decorated with designs made on carved
stamps handed down from one generation to the next. These decorated
cakes & cookies are offered to friends during the Christmas season,
at weddings, christenings, & other festive occasions.

How did you get started collecting Rycraft cookie stamps?
Rycraft stamps are recommended by author Marcy Goldman in her cookbook "Jewish Holiday Baking." When I saw the stamps, I realized that each one is an original work of art! The detail is amazing and the designs are so creative and unique. There is a design for every occasion, something for everyone!
Describe your collection.
I have only been collecting a little over a month, but I already have 14 stamps and have given 3 as gifts. The oldest designs are the Tea Leaf collector's stamp and the American Hosta Society from the early 1990's.
What favorite recipes do you use with your stamps?
So far I have used the Jello Cookie recipe with cranberry jello and the cranberry scoop stamp.
Do you have any family traditions associated with your cookie stamps? We are looking forward to creating some new traditions.
Any additional comments?
Beautiful stamps, a gift anyone would enjoy.

I thought you might be interested to know that I just discovered your website. In 1976 I purchased 2 Rycraft stamps at a small Scandinavian shop across from the hospital where I worked [in Tokeka, Kansas]. One is a single candle surrounded by holly leaves, the other is a star with radiant beams of light. I notice neither are still found on your website. I know these are Rycraft stamps because I still have the tiny recipe booklet that came with them and make the shortbread cookies every year. I have used these stamps each Christmas since 1976. One broke and I glued it back together. The other is chipping a bit around the edges, but they are treasures. . . .

. . . I seem to own a handful of your cookie stamps, bought years ago in Des Moines at a shop in 1 of the malls. My 2 sons and I would debate and argue which stamp to buy, 1 each trip there to mark our holiday and time together.
Now, the youngest of those 2 boys is off in the Marines and I am shipping him and his pals cookies and using those stamps, the next box out will have Marine Corps cookies and Mom cookies and Pig cookies. It was chicken cookies back in those days because a chicken processing plant made my living years ago, now it's a pork processing plant that pays the bills and pig cookies will go to the Marines and come to the plant for the maintenance crew.
I am glad to find you are still in business and wanted to let you know those cookies stamps are a very important part of the memories of special times with my sons, every time I use them, every time the boys have cookies with those stamps on them, it reminds us of those close times.

. . . And just to let you know, we used your stamps when I was growing up ––– Melting Moments are a special (fun and tasty) memory that I am now enjoying sharing with my daughter. We made a batch for her kindergarten class at the holidays and they were a mad success ––– especially with the teacher, whom I am now shopping for as an end-of-year gift. Your stamps are beautiful, I wish I could have one of all!!!
Cheers

Dear Mr. Rycraft,
Thank you for taking time to talk with me yesterday in regard to one of my cookie stamps. . . .
I found your cookie stamps in a specialty shop in Albany, NY, some 10+ years ago and had bought five stamps at that time. Then, the store discontinued carrying them. What a nice surprise, years later, to find your website! Your stamps make intriguing little cookies that stand on their own with no need to frost them. A perfect tea cookie!
Sincerely,

Mr. Robin and Ms. Carol,
It has been more than a week since I placed the following order, but as of today, I hear nothing about the shipping information nor merchandise has not been arrived. Will you please let me know the status of the order?
Thanks for your support.
Regards,
M. Takeda
------ 3/3/08 Our email:
Dear M. Takeda,
Your order was shipped on the 25th. Your UPS tracking number is 1Z4X. . . . It should arrive today, the 3rd. You placed your order on a Saturday, and UPS does not ship on weekends, nor do we work on weekends. It was shipped on the following Monday, and, we do not ship air freight unless it is requested. Sometimes we actually have to make stamps for the orders we receive. That takes an additional four days. However, for your order we did not. Ebay and Amazon we are not.
Sincerely,
Robin Rycraft

Mr. Robin,
Thank you very much for your prompt reply. It was a surprise for me to receive an answer in that short period. It was good to know that the merchandises had been shipped out and we are receiving them in a very short moment. I’ll be looking forward to receiving it today.
This is my first time to buy your products (for my wife), but knowing that you have very good customer service as well as excellent craftsmanship, I am becoming a fun [(fan)] of your company and we’ll look for our next purchase in the near future.
Thanks again, for your support and customer service.

Hello,
I just got my package with the 4 cookie stamps that I ordered from you
today in the mail. I wanted to tell you that the cookie stamps are
beautiful! Even though I am only 27, I remember that my mom had a
cookie stamp of a single tulip (similar to the one that you sell, which
I ordered), and I vividly remember her making peanut butter cookies
with it.
I loved eating those cookies with the beautiful designs on them! I am
so happy that I can now make these memories for my family, too!
I read on your website about the family business, and how Rycraft, Inc.
was started. I think that is awesome, and I would not want to buy from
anywhere else. I wish the world were still like this. . . . Anyway, I’m
really happy with my order, and looking through the online catalog and
the new designs that you sent, I have marked ones in my mind for future
orders for myself and other family members, even though they don’t bake
as often as I do!
Thank you so much!
Joanna S.

Thank you, thank you, for your website. I have about 10 of your stamps, went to make cookies this morning, and couldn’t find my little recipe book. Christmas would not be Christmas without your cookie stamp cookies.

Dear family of Rycraft,
Words are hard to find to express my appreciation for the Beautiful cookie stamps and recipe booklets! Your generosity has touched my heart. Our group of cookie cutter collectors are going to be so blessed with these door prizes. Thank you so very much, and may the holiday season be blessed, prosperous and peaceful!

Thank you so much for sending without question the pineapple stamp last fall after the first box arrived empty. After successfully making a batch of the butter cookies, I invited the grandchildren up to have a go at the peanut butter ones. They had a grand time stamping (pounding!) out the cookies and proudly took home all the good ones, leaving behind the burned batch for my husband and me. We had a great time and the stamps are a yes for the museum shop . . . .
Sincerely,
Louise F.

When I was younger, my mother bought annual dated cookie stamps. I
remember them looking like your products. Is that something that you
do/did? If so, I am looking for past dates of 1998, 2000, 2001 and 2002.

my family and friends absolutely love them. Also, your shortbread

I had no idea I was one of many collectors of these cookie stamps! Many
years ago I happened upon one of your stamps in a store and bought it,
not realizing it was the beginning of a new Christmas tradition. I
can’t find a photo of the exact stamp I first bought, and I can’t
remember exactly how long ago it was, but I immediately began trying
out the recipes from the pamphlet that came with the stamp.
One caught
my attention practically right away: Melting Moments. It has cornstarch
in it, which is also in my favorite spritz cookie recipe and is the
reason the cookies are so light and delicious. Melting Moments cookies
lived up to my expectations and then some! They literally melt in your
mouth, and they’ve become my family’s favorite cookie – to the extent
that my two daughters now have Rycraft cookie stamps, too, so that they
can make these luscious morsels for their own families. I can’t make
the recipe as written, though; I have to make at least double the
quantity! And I now use a variety of stamps on them (I only discovered
your web site today!). My favorite is “Heidi”, since it shows up so
beautifully and since I love hearts!

Hello,
I have a lot of Rycraft Stamps and I cannot find one of my stamps in
your Collector’s Handbook. I am hoping you can tell me about it. It is
a single candle with three leaves on each side circling the
candlestick. It has a dark spot in the lower left corner and a defect
where it appears that the clay stuck to whatever it was fired on. I am
attaching a picture of it. Thanks in advance for your help.

Dear Rycraft,
Your cookie stamps have become a delicious tradition in our family. I
have collected your cookie stamps since my daughter was born in 1978
and now have 45 Rycraft cookie stamps.
Beth is sixteen now and together we make cookies year round, especially
at Valentine's Day, Easter, Halloween, and always at Christmas! I look
forward to giving my Rycraft cookie stamps to my daughter when she has
a family of her own, so she can make the cookies that we have enjoyed
so much over the years.
It has been especially important to me each year to find your dated
Christmas cookie stamp to add to my collection. A few years, I
couldn't find it in the stores because they had already sold their last
dated Rycraft Christmas cookie stamp for that year.
Every time I look over my Rycraft dated Christmas cookie stamp
collection, it makes me so sad to be missing two years. Is it possible
to order those years now? I can't begin to tell you how much it would
mean to me!
I hope you can help me complete my collection of dated Rycraft
Christmas cookie stamps! Thank you again from all of us who use your
cookie stamps to make such wonderful memories for our families!
Sincerely,
Shirley B.
